Piffle - see Ken's linguistic dictionary. by Ken Dunn on 18 November 2016 10:05pm

I was ordering 3 books from Mr Ps other site and had spent some time filling in the details and at the bottom of the page there was the terms and conditions thing which I read. When I returned to the order the details I had spent so long in entering had all disappeared. Piffle.

When I go back to reorder I'll probably forget I've read the T&Cs and it will happen again.

In view of that I'll go back and try again while the information is fresh in my mind.

Attempt 2 failed. Paypal want me to agree to their disclosing my personal data. As our telephone number is ex directory and I don't want my card details disclosed I'm afraid Mr P's shop has lost a good sale of 3 books.

I've just read the T&C's for this website and they are very good. 11c is the one that got johnnythemonkey and others banned. The site does not disseminate your data to anyone. This is excellent so I'll try to order my books direct.

Lol, Ken. Every time I breach my ban and drop by here, I find you hilarious.
So you spend your time researching terms&conditions of a forum that you almost have sole residency of ?
Go put some shelves up for that long-suffering wife of yours.

That's good JBG. I sometimes have a good laugh at what I write after I have written in even though it didn't seem funny beforehand.

If I put any more shelves up my wife would only put more ornaments on them and we have far too many of those already! - It's me that does most of the dusting these days. When I buy ornaments they are small enough to put in a box where they don't need dusting or they are stamps which are protected from dust and deterioration in a stamp album.

It's happened again! Trying to buy tape to support a tendon the company required T&Cs to be read. When I returned to the basket all my details had disappeared. They have an address I can write to to get the order. Piffle.

The above tape company have sent the tape - my cheque was good and they were able to deal with it.

Oh dear! Neither of Mr Ps business addresses can supply the books I want by using a cheque for payment. The first one doesn't keep books at that address and the second one's bank will not accept a correctly corrected cheque.

Ken, I don't bother to read the Terms and Conditions - they are all the same. I just tick the box.

Another episode in the 'Getting internet companies to accept a cheque' saga. Four posts ago I said that TapeUp had accepted my cheque for items I have received. Yesterday I got a letter from their sister company FirstAid4Sport saying that TapeUp don't have a dedicated bank account so the cheque I sent them couldn't be cashed - could I please resend the cheque payable to First... !
