This appeared in UK newspapers this last weekend. TJ's family have announced he has Alzheimers.

All possible good wishes to his family
and friends

Yes, it is sad news but I have suspected that something was wrong for a while. He has aphasia - problems with communication.

I have just read an item in Sunday's newspaper about Terry Jones' illness. Mr P sees him fairly regularly and hopes that his good form when they meet continues.

This weekend Palin presented Jones with a Welsh BAFTA lifetime achievement award. It was good to see them smiling together even though the diagnosis is so very sad. Palin said "Not that Terry is out of circulation…Terry doesn’t say very much but he smiles, laughs, recognizes and responds, and I’m always pleased to see him,’ he added. ‘Long may that last.’"

Thanks, everyone, for thoughtful responses

I saw the picture of MP and TJ in a newspaper at the weekend. Terribly sad.

Yes, indeed, it's good to see his friends are rallying round - particularly Mr P - and now they've had their photo I hope the press will leave them all alone.

As someone once said - can't remember who - the best remains

So very sad. When he won the BAFTA you could see how close he and his son are. That's so great, often eiple with dementia don't have family support.
