Michael's new website by suzulu on 4 June 2015 2:47am

Have you seen Michael's new website? It involves all the other things he does besides travel.

http://www.themichaelpalin.com

In particular, have a look at the News section, Welcome, interview with Michael's alter ego. Very funny!

Just seen your post, suzulu, and would like to thank you very much for letting us know - I hadn't realised Michael had a new website but have just taken a quick look and it's great. I shall be spending some more time looking round it and finding out some interesting info and, doubtless, having a laugh. Thanks again - much appreciated.

OK, guys, we haven't been using this site nearly enough (thanks to everyone having de-camped to the evil Facebook.)

This new site (while wonderful and I really enjoyed it) doesn't yet provide a place where like-minded people can meet and greet which has been such an amazing thing about this site. I've made friends here from around the world who will probably be my friends for the rest of our lives.

I'm sure that maintaining this site costs a lot of $ (sorry I don't have a pound sign on my keyboard) and Michael's financial advisors, I am sure, are telling him to deep-six it.

It would be great if the two sites could be combined so us "old folks at palinstravels" could meet all the new folks and continue the tradition of getting people together.

Just a suggestion,

Geraldine

Good idea, Geraldine. Michael is now on Facebook so maybe that is why they haven't put a forum on the new site.

It's good to see information about Mr P's other activities and projects.

As not all of us has joined Facebook, I hope this site continues as it is great to chat to fellow fans and read all the news and items related too Michael and his travels, especially as there is no facility for this on his new website. I would hate to lose another interest to Facebook so let's keep this going with more posts. I promise to visit here more often and add relevant messages.

I think they will keep this website as the other one doesn't include his travels.

That's a very valid point, Suzulu - long may Palin's Travels continue....

I see from Mr P's new website that he is not planning to bring his new stage show to Scotland (yet). I'll maybe plan a trip back to Ireland and perhaps get to his Belfast show.

There could possibly be some Scottish venues after the end of October so I've written to ask if that is the case.

Sorry, no plans for any venues in Scotland - reply received but a bit wordier that that.
