Formula 1 racing. by Ken Dunn on 25 April 2009 1:12pm

Toyota, besides building the best road cars in the world, have taken P1 and P2 at the front of the grid in qualification for tomorrow's grand prix in Bahrain.

I guess that you drive a Toyota, Ken ?

I have driven many cars JTM and have found Toyota to be the best.

Ken:isn't motor racing rather noisy and anti-social?
I once went to a race meeting at Silverstone and I couldn't believe the amount of noise being generated by the cars.
I think I'd rather go to a heavy metal concert.

I've got a Toyota, vroom vroom ;)
I've been to a F1 Grand Prix AND a heavy metal concert (or seven...)
They're not anti-social at all, they're the best places to make a new friend (or seven...)

When I was in my early 20s, I had a Chevy Cavalier that could blow the paint off a Trans Am or GTO any day! I used to love racing the boys in their muscle cars and leaving them in the dust.

Oh, those were the days. ;-)

Ooh HERE'S a side to Judy that we didn't know about! Born to be wild, eh?

Yes bb, excessive noise prevents effective communication and is distracting so any loud event could be classified as anti social but remember that the ticket is for the race (or the band).
I have always enjoyed the F1 racing on the telly where there is a volume control and an off switch.
I've been to motorcycle road races with a 10 mile lap so the noise of the bikes tends to be well spread out.

Well, after the car there is also the driver and team engineers to consider and it seems Brawn have the best of those at the moment.
McLaren seem to have woken up a bit after their below par performances in the first 3 races.

Not too wild, no. But there was a great sense of satisfaction in boring little me in my boring little Chevy Cavalier whupping the pants off those jerks in their Trans Ams!
