In fashion now is the "GM Diet".

Originally engineered for employees of The General Motors Corporation,this Diet has more or less now been adopted by all owners of automobiles.

GM recommend that you wash your car 3 times per day,and each time flush. Clean your exhaust pipe at least twice a day,making sure you scrape off and brush away any nasty clinging residues and toxins. Polish the bonnet in the morning,and in the afternoon take all the carpets out and give them a good old whacking to remove all dust. Polish the fenders at 2pm. Make your motor gleam and sparkle with absolute good pristine health. Clean the tires and rub the hubcaps hard until they twinkle.

They guarantee if you follow this regime every day of the week that by the end of the week you will have lost between 10 and 17lbs.

In addition to that great link you posted bIG, I just wanted to add that myself and my husband did the Cabbage Soup Diet when we first got married, 15 years ago!, and amazingly enough our bowels are still in tact.

Here's the GM Diet version:
G.M.'S Wonder Soup

The following soup is intended as a supplement to your diet. It can be eaten any time of the day in virtually unlimited quantities. You are encouraged to consume large quantities of this soup.

28 oz, Water, 6 Large Onions, 2 Green Peppers, Whole Tomatoes (fresh or canned), 1 Head Cabbage, 1 Bunch Celery, 4 Envelopes Lipton Onion Soup Mix, Herbs and Flavouring as desired.

Also in fashion is 3 ply toilet paper.

No, I have fashioned an entire outfit made from creme egg foil wrappers. It's great, apart from when there's lightning about.
