I know you've not been keeping well and I hope this cheers you. I know you love The Doors and especially Jim. What a talented, charismatic but ultimately sad young man he was. His music continues to bring me and my girls huge pleasure.

Fantastic, John - thank you.
I remember about 10 years ago driving along a multi-laned highway in LA with LA Woman blasting from the cd player!! BLISS!

Years ago (1994 !!) our driving music of choice while touring Turkey was Simon and Garfunkel which seemed to go brilliantly. Both of us singing along to various tracks whilst whizzing through tiny villages where the inhabitants probably hadn't seen foreigners, never mind heard 'America', for exazmple!!

:))

You're welcome Anne. So who would you choose between Johnny Depp, Jim and Bono.
I suspect that you would elect for johnnythemonkey. ;)

I heard Simon and Garfunkel on the car radio recently and commented to Margaret how timeless their music is.

Interesting interview with Jim's dad and sister. His dad seemed like a nice man who loved his son but I find it kind of sad that he didn't think of Jim as a good singer and he really didn't 'get' the talent that he fathered. I just find Jim fascinating.

My eldest daughter would be the person to ask anything you wanted to know about Jim's life, music or poetry.

Chas has a great command of the English language and has good writing skills. She has done some gig reviews for online mags etc and has connections with some famous bands and musicians. I think she could bring something new to Jim's story.

She posted an hilarious clip on FB of my grandson Jacob John dancing like mad in front of their sound system while The Doors played. He was only in his nappy and he was shaking his head and every other part of his body ! 3 generations of Doors fans. Thank you Jim, Ray, Robby and John.

How on EARTH did they get that clip of me?

LOL, I WISH !!!!!!!

:D

Oh, and to answer your question - it IS something I have thought of before, except Bono v Jim. Jim would win every time I have to say (sorry Bono, don't get depressed!!)

Even Jim v Johnny Depp, again Jim.

:))

LOL Anne. I'd seen another version of that clip but it wasn't as obvious what 'you' were doing towards Jim.

I'm glad you opted for Jim above the others. Even I could have fancied Jim. Did you watch the interview with his
dad and sis ?

I'm happy for him that although he passed at such a young age, we continue to talk about him and that he will be talked about for many years to come.
