PBS has been doing a series about Queen Elizabeth showing her at work, going to events and what goes on at Buckingham Palace.

Our last visit in the UK in 1991, we got to see the Queen Mum @ a distance. Not sure what the fascination of the Royal family is for us Yanks.

The series is narrated by actor Tim Piggot-Smith and the news reporter is veteran ITN reporter Trevor McDonald.

Sorry to say this Mike but I detested the old Queen Mum and I have little time for Trevor McDoughnut.

Well I have no feeling toward the Royal family either way. I thought ol Trevor was rather erudite.

Trevor McDonald is an average journalist who became a 'national treasure' because his skin colour suited the times to elevate him to that and his ingrationating way of talking to the 'high and mighty' helped his progress.

He recently did a series which attempted to copy Michael's style. It was about the Mississippi and how important a role it's played in American history etc. The photography etc was good but the only thing that let down what could have been a good short series was his boring presentation. Stick to reading an autocue Trevor.
