Honeymoon in Ireland by TERRY S on 23 September 2013 12:17am

Don and I have just returned from a magical trip to Northern Ireland. We can't recommend it highly enough. It was just so beautiful and the people are the most hospitable I have ever met! It's incredible. Didn't have chance to go south of the border. We'll do that next time. And there will be a next time. It was awesome!

Sounds wonderful, Terry. Glad you both had a lovely time.

It was wonderful. In fact it got under our skin so much, we're still in "Irish Slang" mode now we're home. I still say "What about ye?" when Don walks in the door, and he still says he's "grand" when I ask him if he's okay.

Congratulations on your wedding Terry and I'm glad you enjoyed Northern Ireland. It had a bad reputation for a while but they've worked hard to sort it.

Thanks, Ken! NI has worked so hard to overcome the mess of the Troubles. There are still sectarian areas - indicated by flags and painted pavements etc, and the peace walls are still around, but other than that,it's wonderful. It's amazing. In fact now they take you on tours of the Falls/Shankill and give you a marker so you can write a peace message on the wall. Some people even write on the fence on the opposite side of the road too. NI is amazing, must go check out the south too at some point.

Glad you had a good time Terry. Belfast is beautiful. We want to go back and see the Titanic museum. Also the Giant's Causeway is well worth a visit, we've been there three times. Just the most unusual site.

Hope you do make it south of the border too one day. But both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland each have their beauty.
