Serious prayer request by canaveralgumby on 21 October 2004 1:59am

I would like to ask that all members of this web board pray in whatever way you do, and put good vibes out into the universe, for the Boston Red Sox.

Okay, so it's not such a serious request...

GO SOX!

I hate the Yankees too. Many of their fans make trouble when they practically take over our ballpark when the Yankees come to the city. Most people here don't even want to attend the games here when New York busses in thousands of fans from up there. Maybe many people don't realize it, but Baltimore and New York have long been big big rivals too. It's only the Boston rivalry people hear about, for some reason.

But like most, I am sick of thier arrogance and long time buying of the championships. it;'s about time tohe table wre turned. And this year, it was particularly sweet!!!!!! A-Rod is now a curse and Boston is turning thiers around.

There are two viewpoints on how the Boston REd Sox can break the curse. Have they already done it or do they have to win the World Series?

Either way, this series was a real thtrill to most sports fans. I found it quite interesting that the television cameras didn';t show the loers in their locker room after the big loss! Only Joe Torre spoke to the media immediately afterwards.

And Mussina STILL hasn't gotten a ring since deserting our team in Baltimore!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA. I know Isound like sour grapes, but all he wanted was a ring, not a team where he fit in better with the player personalities and had a easy access from his home in pennsylvania and the love of his fans here. he deserted us and few have forgiven him.

Has anyone seen any of the newspaper headlines after the Yankees lost!??? HAHAHAHAHAHA .
PRICELESS!

There is no sport in rooting for the Yankees. How much can it hurt when they lose? They still win one in every four World Series. You could debate whether dynasties are bad for sports or not, but this particular one is really bad for the game.

David Letterman said last night that George Steinbrenner has fired Babe Ruth!

Salaries, however, don't guarantee a winning team. My favorite team has the third highest payroll in baseball.

"What team is that, Cori?"

the, uh, you know, the *mumble mumble gurgle clear throat...

"Who's that, Cori? Didn't quite catch that?"

the, uh, *rumble rumble grumble...

"Cori, I can't hear you. WHO'S your favorite team?"

The METS, OKAY?! I root for the Mets, and no, I'm NOT embarrassed about them. Much.

Mac, you're lucky. For baseball fans this time of year can tear your heart out. My Houston Astros did it to me again, but at least we didn't lose in the first round like we always have before. Go Red Sox!

Not really George, over here we have Australian rules football in the winter and then its the cricket in the summer. Mind you I love the cricket so thats alright but in the winter when the football is on well I,m not into football, everone goes nuts, our football goes right across the country. But for you guys baseball is pretty big over there. All I know about baseball is what I,ve seen in the movies...If you build it they will come, I liked that movie. Oh yeah and who is Orville the duck??
