St Petersburg by tucsonmike on 29 November 2007 6:28am

BBC did a news story tonight on St. Petersburg and how it is Putin's power base. Would either of our St. Petersburg ladies like to comment?

I have nothing to comment. Putin is from St Petes, he has his summer residence here, so ?...
It's no reason for me now starting speculation about anything. The future will tell.

Does the Russian President no longer have the summer-time villa at Yalta, was it? Where the abortive coup tried to get Gorbachev deposed? It sounds - from Michael's reporting, no less! - a lovely summer place

LOL Linda, I guess Mr Putin can have as many summer residence as he wants to, he's a ....in' President after all ! :))) ("because she's a ....in' Princess" <--- a Python reference).
Never been to Yalta (pronounced as "JALTA", like in German "Ja"), we couldn't afford it when I was a kid, and later I preferred Europe (mostly Old Europe:-) as my holiday destination...
