Please donate to UNICEF's East Africa Appeal
As a UNICEF supporter, Michael Palin is appealing for people to support UNICEF's East Africa Emergency Appeal.
East Africa really is in crisis. War, failing harvests and the worst drought in 50 years means over two million children are at risk. Risk of disease. Risk of death. In just one refugee camp in Kenya, there are nearly half a million people in urgent need of food, water and basic healthcare. The situation throughout the region is becoming more and more critical; the threat of starvation is very real.
UNICEF is on the ground doing what we can but we do need to raise more vital life-saving funding. Our current appeal is for $31 million and that is just to see us through the next couple of months in this initial emergency phase but the need will be there for many years to come.
